Sustainable forest of renewable timber

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
― Jane Goodall

Sustainable

We want to create buildings that minimise their negative impacts on the living world. We aspire to do things as sustainably as possible, within the constraints of the project. Whenever possible we choose to specify and work with materials that offer the highest environmental & sustainability credentials.

Sustainable

We want to make buildings that are healthy for the living world and that includes the people that stay in them! Where possible we select building products derived directly from natural raw materials because they are better for the environment, but also because they are healthier for us to work with and for our customers to live with.

We are conscious of the importance of indoor air quality and the effect it can have on health and wellbeing. Our buildings are designed with breathing walls that help maintain a healthy indoor climate. When choosing indoor finishes and treatments we look for those that are low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Sustainable

It is important to us that we try and conduct our business fairly and conscientiously. We work hard to find a balance between the needs and wishes of our clients, the aim of reducing negative impacts on the living planet, and the necessity of maintaining a business and earning our living.

We consider the origins of the materials we specify so we can make more ethical choices about what we buy. This means also looking at other factors too, including their human impact, not just their environmental credentials. Although it is possible to purchase products with "Sustainable" certification from various parts of the world, we choose to avoid those from ethically questionable origins.

Intrinsic Quality

We make a conscious choice to work on projects that can meet our values. We find our reward in making things that serve their purpose well. The things we make should possess intrinsic quality, imparted by the materials used and the way they are crafted. We strive to create beautiful things that are durable and long-lasting and are built in a way that minimises their harm to the living planet.
